Martin Luther King Jr. Closure

City of Eustis Offices and City Hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Normal Hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.

City of Eustis to Unveil the World’s Largest Duck for Georgefest 2025

The City of Eustis will debut “Duke,” the world’s largest rubber duck, at Georgefest 2025. Standing more than six stories tall and weighing over 11 tons, Duke will be on display Feb. 15-22, 2025, during the annual Georgefest celebration. As the sponsor of the event, Duke Energy is proud to support this one-of-a-kind experience.

City of Eustis Mayor and Vice-Mayor Elected

At the Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 Commission Meeting, Commissioner Willie Hawkins was elected as Mayor of the City of Eustis and Commissioner Gary Ashcraft was elected as Vice-Mayor. Hawkins and Ashcraft will serve their respective roles until Mayor and Vice-Mayor elections are held again, in January of next year.

Master Plan Community Meeting

The City of Eustis will host a Community Meeting to present and hear public feedback on the Downtown Master Plan. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Eustis Woman’s Club located at 227 N Center Street in Eustis. All residents are invited to attend the upcoming meeting.

FDOT Road Project Updates

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is continuing safety and operational enhancements on State Road (S.R.) 19, from north of Stevens Avenue to County Road 452 in Eustis. Beginning on October 20, there will be overnight intersection closure closures along both southbound and northbound S.R. 19.

City of Eustis Recognized at America in Bloom Conference

Representatives from the City of Eustis recently traveled to the annual America in Bloom Conference in Columbus, Ohio where the City was recognized for several beautification projects. The City of Eustis received a plaque of recognition for Community Vitality. This is the second consecutive year that the City of Eustis has been recognized by the national America in Bloom organization.

Yard Waste Pick Up

The City of Eustis is thankful that our area has not incurred any direct hits from the recent storms. We realize that many of our residents have additional yard waste due to the increased winds in our area. As always, residents who live within the City of Eustis limits can request yard debris pick-up. Waste Management has up to 72 hours from the time of the request to complete the pick-up.

City of Eustis Appoints Interim Commissioner

At the Eustis City Commission Meeting held on Sept. 19, 2024 Christine Cruz was sworn in as Interim Commissioner for seat number 4. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve the citizens of Eustis by using the input I’ve gathered over past 20 years in the community to help shape good policies, and make decisions that improve our quality of life,” says Cruz.
