Road Closures Announced for Georgefest 2024

The City of Eustis’ 122nd Georgefest Celebration begins in a week, running from February 17-24, and there will be numerous road closures throughout the city in conjunction with the various events, including Highway 19 on February 24 when motorists will be asked to take alternative routes.

Beginning on Saturday, February 17, Ferran Park Drive will be closed from Orange Avenue to McDonald Avenue from noon to 11 p.m.

On Sunday, February 18 through Sunday, February 25, McDonald Avenue will be closed from Grove Street to Eustis Street and Eustis Street will be closed from Clifford Avenue to McDonald Avenue from 5 p.m. through midnight. In addition, Eustis Street from Magnolia Avenue to McDonald Avenue will be closed from Thursday, February 22 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, February 25 at 8 a.m.

On Friday, February 23, Ferran Park Drive will again close at 6 a.m. until Sunday, February 25 at 8 a.m.

Saturday, February 24, the Georgefest parade will affect the following: From 9 a.m to 12:30 p.m., Taylor Avenue and Quayle Avenue will be closed between Bay Street and Morin Street; Morin Street will be closed from Quayle Avenue to the entrance of the parade. In addition, Bay Street (Highway 19), will be closed from County Road 452 to Lakeview Avenue. Vehicles will be rerouted to Grove Street, which will become two-way traffic until the parade is finished.

Please note that there will be traffic delays following the parade on Saturday until normal traffic patterns resume.

Those who are traveling through Eustis are encouraged to avoid the congestion by using County Road 44 Bypass to the east of the City on Saturday. For more information, visit www.eustisgeorgefest.com.
