More than half of the City of Eustis Fire Department showed their support as new Firefighters/EMTs, promotions and recognitions were held at the Eustis City Commission meeting Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024. Garrett Griswold, Orlando Lorenzo, and Nicholas Zeitler were pinned as new Firefighters/EMTs by family members following the swearing in ceremony by Eustis Fire Chief Mike Swanson. Senior Inspector Niki Everson and Lt./Paramedic Michael Peckham received promotions, as did Deputy Chief of Operations Shawn Kelleher. Lt. Chad Williamson, Eng/Medic Tanner Long, and Firefighter Garrett Griswold were all recognized for helping a Eustis citizen give birth to her first child at her home. Mayor Michael Holland, Vice-Mayor Emily Lee, City Manager Tom Carrino, City Attorney Sasha Garcia, along with City Commissioners Nan Cobb, Gary Ashcraft and Willie Hawkins, all congratulated the hardworking members of the department.
