For the 33rd consecutive year, the City of Eustis was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The City received the award for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2022.

“The Commissioners and I want to congratulate the City employees whose daily contributions make this recognition possible,” said Mayor Michael Holland. “For this to be the 33rd consecutive year that Eustis has received this award is simply outstanding, and I’d like to congratulate every employee who took part in the process to ensure that the City’s standards continue to be impeccably high.”

Led by Finance Director Mike Sheppard, the staff prepares the report in the months following the end of each fiscal year, which is then reviewed and judged by the GFOA.

“We have the hardest working staff who are dedicated to ensuring that the City’s financial reporting is in accordance with the standards and the spirit of full disclosure,” said City Manager Tom Carrino. “The City is proud to be a leader in municipal fiscal responsibility and excellence.”
