City of Eustis Takes Home Nine 2023 FFEA SunSational Awards

EUSTIS, Fla. – The Florida Festivals & Events Association (FFEA) recently announced the winners of its annual SunSational Awards during their 29th annual convention and tradeshow in Bonita Springs, Florida. The Program recognizes members' innovation, individuality, and creative collaboration. 

Nominations were accepted in ten categories, including Printed Materials; Outdoor Advertisement; PR / Media Campaign; Photo; Promotional Item; T-shirt; Broadcast Media; Multimedia Marketing;. Adapted and Virtual Events; and Programming. Each category included three budget levels. In 2023, over 200 events were submitted for consideration.

The City of Eustis’ Events and Tourism Department was proudly recognized in multiple categories;

1st Place – Georgefest T-Shirt Design

1st Place – Eustis MusicFest T-Shirt Design

1st Place – Snowflakes by the Lake Advertising Banners

2nd Place – Georgefest Educational Programming

2nd Place – Georgefest Emergency Action Plan

2nd Place – Eustis First Fridays Advertising Poster

3rd Place – Georgefest Advertising Banners

3rd Place – Georgefest Tickets & Invitations

3rd Place – Snowflakes by the Lake Photograph

Events and Tourism Manager, Miranda Muir shared, “It is a total team effort. In fact, one of these awards belongs to our Emergency Services Teams for their constant effort to keep our events safe.” Muir noted every Department within the City goes above and beyond to make the evens run smoothly.

Representing the City of Eustis at the conference were Muir, Events Assistant Christine Guiffre, and Events Assistant Carl Saenger. The team of three help organize and orchestrate more than 25 annual events including the City's signature event, Georgefest.

Eustis City Mayor, Michael Holland shared, "On behalf of myself adn the Eustis City Commission, I would like to congratulate our Events & Tourism staff.  Their dedication to our city is amazing and the quality of the events they provide to our community and guests are second to none... Eustis Proud!"

Nominations were judged by a blue-ribbon panel representing media outlets, printing companies, website designers, photographers, promotional marketing professionals, and social media experts.

“The SunSational Awards have recognized and celebrated the talents of our members for more than two decades,” said Suzanne Neve, CEO of the FFEA. “We’re proud of our members and their events – and excited to recognize them in this way each year."
