GT Memorial Dog Park

This off-leash dog park opened in December 2019, features two separate areas for both small and large dogs. The park got its name after Commissioner Carla Gnann-Thompson, also known as "GT," had a passion for all dogs and animal rescue groups.

Dog Park Rules

  • You must clean-up after your pet and dispose of all pet waste in receptacles. 
  • Dog park closes half hour before sunset.
  • Dog owners must remain in fenced area at all times within a view of their dogs. 
  • Dogs must be within voice range and under owner's control at all times while in fenced areas. 
  • There is a limit of two dogs, per person in the dog park and any dog must be removed from the park at the first sight of aggression. 
  • Aggressive dogs are prohibited from this park.
  • No dog classified as "dangerous" under Florida Statues is allowed in this dog park (criminal penalties may apply).
  • Dog owners will be liable for damages, included, but not limited to: dog bites, caused to other persons and domestic animals. 
  • Dog owners must have possession of a dog leash at all times. 
  • Leash dogs when entering and exiting the dog park.
  • Dogs in heat, sick dogs, and puppies under 4 months old are prohibited from entering the dog park. 
  • Do not allow dogs to dig near the fence. 
  • All dogs must have and display current licenses and vaccination tags.
  • Any dog owner who fails to comply with the rules, can be expelled from the dog park. Repeat offenders are subject to being trespassed. 
  • Dogs less than 35 lbs shall remain in the small dog area.
  • Dogs larger than 35 lbs shall remain in the large dog area. 
  • Dog bites should be reported immediately to Lake County Office of Animal Control at (352) 343-9688 with contact information of the injured party and dog owner. 
  • Dog handler must be 16 years of age or older. Children under 16 are allowed in the dog park only with a responsible adult. 
  • Dog handlers using the dog park do so at their own risk. The City of Eustis shall not be liable for any injury or damages caused at the dog park. 
  • No food, glass, or smoking allowed in the dog park.

  • All other general rules of the park are also applicable within the dog park.
