Due to a recent lightning storm, the Grand Island water treatment plant was severely damaged and is temporarily out of service. To maintain service, residents in the Grand Island area are receiving water from an alternate plant and may notice lower-than-normal water pressure.Repair crews are working now, and we expect the Grand Island plant to be back online within 48 hours.
The St. John's River Water Management District has issued a Phase III Extreme Water Shortage Order, which included Lake County. Restrictions include: One day a week watering, odd numbered addresses on Saturday, even numbered addresses on Sunday, nonresidential on Tuesday, and prohibited between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
