Eustis Fire Department Collects Most Food in Tri-City Challenge

The Eustis Fire Department claimed its sixth consecutive victory in the Tri‑City Fire Department Food Drive Challenge by collecting 7,441 pounds of food to support Lake Cares Food Pantry.

Community members, local partners and students supported the food drive by donating nonperishable food items at Fire Station 22 on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Special thanks go to the Eustis Police Department school resource officers, who coordinated in‑school competitions to help collect donations.

The Eustis Fire Department would like to extend gratitude to everyone who participated in the challenge.

As the winning agency, the Eustis Fire Department will keep the honorary traveling Rotary Club sign for another year. The department has held the title every year since the challenge began, underscoring its ongoing dedication to servicing the community beyond emergency response.

“We are proud to take part in this yearly competition, which reflects our commitment to serving the community and the incredible generosity of our city,” said Deputy Fire Chief Shawn Kelleher. “Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support local families.”

All donations collected by the participating agencies are donated to the Lake Cares Food Pantry, directly supporting families throughout Lake County.
