Amazing Race for Charity, Raises Over $41,000 for Local Causes

The City of Eustis is thrilled to announce the success of the 2025 Amazing Race for Charity, which raised an impressive $41,950 to support local nonprofits. Held on Saturday, March 29, the event brought together over 300 racers, dozens of volunteers, and countless supporters for a one-of-a-kind experience full of energy, teamwork, and community spirit.
The City recognized and celebrated all benefiting organizations at the April 17 City Commission Meeting, where representatives were formally honored for their commitment to the Lake County community.
Proceeds from the event were distributed to the following organizations:
- Worth It Suicide Outreach and Support Inc.
- Humane Society
- Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Florida
- Hand in Hand Recovery
- ECS4Kids
- Education Foundation of Lake County
- Trout Lake Nature Center
- Lake Cares Inc. Food Pantry
- Companions for Courage
- LovExtension, Inc.
The City also made special donations to:
- Alee Academy Charter School, for providing transportation services
- Eustis African American Heritage Celebration Committee, Inc., for their outstanding volunteer support
Participants in the Amazing Race tackled a 4 to 6-mile course filled with over 15 creative and challenging obstacles. This marked the first year the City of Eustis fully organized and hosted the event, previously led by a nonprofit group.
A'zhane Faulknor, City Events Assistant and lead organizer, shared:
“Seeing the community come together in such a big way was incredible. We wanted this event to be fun, purposeful, and impactful—and I think we succeeded. Every obstacle, every laugh, every donation went toward something meaningful, and we’re so grateful to everyone who played a part.”
The City of Eustis extends its heartfelt thanks to the racers, volunteers, sponsors, and staff who made the 2025 Amazing Race for Charity an overwhelming success. Planning is already underway to make 2026 even more unforgettable.
