Lakeview Avenue Improvements Project (Completed)
The Lakeview Avenue Project contract was awarded to Built Rite Construction of Pearson, Florida at the regular City Commission Meeting on July 6, 2017. Extremely competitive prices were submitted and the City was able to award the project at a construction amount of approximately $2.8M. 

This project will encompass a full reconstruction of Lakeview Avenue from Bay Street to Haselton Street. Sanitary sewer mains and water mains will be replaced to provide increased reliability of our systems. Storm sewer piping and inlets will also be installed. As the utilities are completed, the curb and gutters will be placed, roadbase will be restored and a full re-pavement will be completed. Sidewalks were repaired on the north side of the road and a new sidewalk will be installed on the south side.  more

The City Commission and City Residents have recently voiced concern over the antiquated facilities and design, recommending taking a fresh look at ways to revive the park to allow for maximum public use. Over six months of research and input regarding alternatives and options for improving Ferran Park to maximize public use and revitalize the lakefront area have gone into the master planning. more

In 2009, the City of Eustis Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) action plan identified an opportunity for a “plaza” at the intersection of Palmetto/Kensington/McDonald. This plaza is intended to establish a “true nexus point for the community” while stimulating business growth. more

Rail_smallRail Rehabilitation Project (Completed) 
The Florida Department of Transportation has recently approved the first rehab bill for a Florida Central Railroad (FCEN) rail improvement project. This Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) Rail Rehabilitation project calls for the upgrade of a 57-mile stretch of rails between Orlando and Umatilla. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2013. more
