The City of Eustis is committed to maintaining an accessible website ensuring that this website achieves “Level AA” conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, to comply with the National Disability Authority’s Code of Practice on Accessibility of Public Services and Information Provided by Public Bodies and ensuring that new information on the website for a conformance target will achieve “Level AA” conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. Including accessibility when we procure upgrades to existing systems.

The website currently has an AA rating conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 web accessibility audit and guidelines for this website was on 2-7-18.

Under Florida law, email addresses are public records.  If you do not want your email address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity.  Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.

Information Collected and Stored Automatically
If you do nothing during your visit but browse through the web site, read pages, or download information, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

Social Media Policy

Social networking has encouraged new ways to communication and share information. Through this policy, the City of Eustis shall establish basic guidelines for use of its current (and any new) social media outlets to ensure proper use. Social media channels are used to increase public awareness of the city’s services, accomplishments, events, and news, as well as an effective and immediate form of communication in emergency/crisis situations when timeliness of the information is crucial.

The goals of the City of Eustis Social Media Policy are:

  • To increase public awareness of the City’s programs, policies and services
  • To promote the value and importance of the City’s programs, policies and services among government officials, civic leaders, residents and the public
  • To maintain open, professional and responsive communications with members of the public and the news media

This policy, and its provisions, apply to and serve as a guide to all City employees, departments, volunteers and contracted entities that share information on behalf of the City while engaging in any social media activities implied or directed. Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict employees from the right to speak freely on matters of public concern and to engage in other protected concerted activities, as defined an interpreted by applicable law.

All social media communications messages and comments are subject to public records law. All of the City’s social media sites shall comply with Chapter 119 and any other applicable sections of the Florida State Statutes. The City of Eustis will use a third-party service provider to automatically capture and retain all social media interaction on City-owned social media accounts.

The City welcomes a person's right to express his/her opinion and encourages posters to keep comments related to content. However, the City reserves the right to remove any comments that are inappropriate or offensive, including comments that:
  • defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or violate the legal rights of others,
  • include racism, hatred, slander, threats, obscenity, sexual orientation, violence, vulgarity, name calling, spam or advertisements,
  • have personal information about another person or that violate a person's privacy interests,
  • include copyrighted material belonging to another person,
