Woodward Ave. Street Resurfacing Starting Sept. 7

Beginning Tuesday, September 7, improvements on Woodward Avenue will begin work in two phases.

 

Phase I:  Art Walker Construction will begin milling and removing asphalt on Woodward Ave. from Lakeshore Dr. to King St.  Milling will take 2 days (weather permitting).  This portion of Woodward Ave. will be closed for through traffic, while crews are milling the asphalt.

City crews will begin the removal of the concrete road base and curbing on Woodward Ave. from Lakeshore Dr. to King St. beginning the week of Monday, September 13th.   Upon demolition of this section of Woodward Ave., crews will install new curbing, new lime rock base and new asphalt, along with storm improvements.   During construction this portion of Woodward Ave will be closed for through traffic.  Only residents living in the construction zone, Jackson St., South of Woodward Ave., and Green Lake Dr. will be permitted on this portion of road.  City crews will be on hand to direct you if the need arises.

Phase II:  Phase II will begin immediately after the completion of Phase I.  Art Walker Construction will be doing all the work for this project.  Phase II is Woodward Ave between King St and the railroad right of way.  Phase II scope includes removal and replacement of asphalt, roadbase and curbing.  It also includes storm and sanitary improvements.   Portions of Woodward Ave will be closed to through traffic during construction.  Art Walker Construction has 270 days to complete Phase II of the project.
