The Gift of Giving – Eustis Shares Program

Eustis, FL – This holiday season, City employees showed their “Hometown Spirit” by donating canned and non-perishable food items and cash donations to the Hearts & Hands Ministries in the 5nd Annual Eustis Shares Program. Through this program, employees generously filled 21 boxes with canned and non-perishable food items, weighing a total of 1,291 pounds!

The Hearts and Hands Ministries is a multi-dimensional organization that serves the community through a multi-site Food Bank, a Home Repair program, a Thrift Store, and a Certified Pre-School. They partner with United Way, Community Food Banks, Churches, Community Organizations, Service Clubs, The NOMADS, The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Community Foundation of South Lake, and The Bread of Life Fellowship Food Bank. If you would like to make a donation to the food bank, you may call Hearts and Hands at (352) 357-4766 or visit them at the old Pink Elephant building on Grove St. across from the Post Office. Food is distributed at 65 Glover Street on the first and third Friday of each month to hundreds of recipients who come in need.
