City’s Inaugural Citizen Police Academy a success! 

Eustis, FL – The Eustis Police Department is proud to announce the completion of the City’s first Citizen Police Academy, October 25, 2011. The program enabled the participants to become familiar with the daily operations of the Eustis Police Department.

 

The academy consisted of citizens attending ten 3-hour sessions on topics including Department Overview, Administrative Operations, Constitutional Law, Internal Affairs, Communications Center (Dispatch), Accident Investigations, Crime Scene Investigations, Drug Identification and Investigations, Use of Force Matrix, Interview Techniques, Police Equipment, Traffic Enforcement, Domestic Violence, Stress Management, Mental Health, D.U.I. (Driving under the influence) and Budget/City Structure.

 

The 15 graduates of the program will receive their certificate of completion at the City Commission meeting scheduled for 6:00 p.m., November 3rd at City Hall, 10 N. Grove Street.
