At a
special meeting of the Eustis City Commission on September 1, 2011,
Commissioners approved the appointment of Mary Montez as City Clerk for the City
of Eustis. Ms. Montez fills a position being vacated by the current City Clerk,
Judy Roberts, who is moving out of state.
Ms.
Montez has approximately 14 years of experience as a City Clerk. She worked for
the City of Mount Dora from 1994-2006, where she performed City Clerk functions,
as well as executive support to the City Manager and seven member City Council.
She was also employed by the City of Tavares for five years where she served as
City Clerk from 1988 to 1990. She is currently employed as a department
secretary for Central Florida Health Alliance.
Ms.
Montez has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Warner
University and has completed the required three years training towards
certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk from the Florida Association of
City Clerks.

are very pleased to have Mary Montez as City Clerk of Eustis,” said Eustis City
Manager Paul Berg. ‘She has all the skills and experience to do a great job for
the City of Eustis. Mary will continue the excellent level of service that has
been provided by Judy Roberts for the last several years.”

The
selection process was conducted by the City’s Human Resources Department and
City Clerk, Judy Roberts, who scrutinized 77 applications, recommended
applicants for personal interviews and conducted background investigations. Ms.
Montez will begin work on September 12, 2011.
