– At the Organizational City Commission Meeting at 7:30, January 3, 2012, one of
the Commission’s first actions was to elect a new Mayor and Vice-Mayor to serve
in those positions for current calendar year. Commissioner Susan Hooper, Seat
4, who served as Vice Mayor in 2011, was elected by the Commission to serve as
the Mayor for 2012. Kress Muenzmay, Seat 2, was elected to serve as the
Vice-Mayor of Eustis for 2012.
“As
a child, I watched some great men and women do this job,” said 2011 Outgoing
Mayor Michael Holland. “Knowing that it was part-time work, I often wondered
how they found the time. Now I know that they sacrificed to give back to their
community. It has been a great honor to be able to serve my hometown in this
capacity. “
