Outdoor Ice Rink to Open in Ferran Park for the Holidays

EUSTIS, FL. (Nov. 8, 2018) Ferran Park will soon transform into a winter wonderland. The City of Eustis in partnership with Florida Hospital Waterman, soon to be AdventHealth Waterman, presents “Eustis on Ice.” An ice skating rink with real ice, will make its public debut in downtown Eustis this holiday season starting Wednesday, November 21 and run until January 6, 2019.

The 40’ x 100’ ice rink will be right in the middle of Ferran Park directly on Lake Eustis, for all to enjoy, seven days a week. “Florida Hospital Waterman is delighted to sponsor Eustis on Ice this holiday season,” said Abel Biri, CEO of Florida Hospital Waterman. “This family-friendly activity will be available right here in the heart of our community in a beautiful lakefront setting. Eustis holds a special place in our hearts because it is where our hospital began under the Waterman legacy name.  Soon we will be transitioning to AdventHealth Waterman as a continuation of that legacy with the community. We look forward to enjoying ice in sunny Florida!”

Admission to the ice rink is $10 per skater and includes skate rental or get a skate pass for $90 for ten admissions and ten beverages. Large groups are encouraged to attend! Groups of 20 or more receive a discounted rate of $8 per person that includes skate rental. The ice rink is also available to book for private parties and corporate rentals that can accommodate up to 100 people.

The City of Eustis will be offering Spirit Night for local Lake County Schools to help raise school funds. The ice rink will feature themed nights, a holiday movie in the park, and a visit from Santa. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase and food trucks will be available on the weekends. “It’s very possible that many people in Eustis or in Lake County may have never seen snow, let alone been ice skating,” said Erin Bailey, Events & Tourism Manager. “This will provide an exciting experience and many firsts for everyone.”
