City of Eustis Celebrates Florida City Government Week

EUSTIS, Fla. (October 23, 2018) – The City of Eustis will be joining cities throughout the state in celebrating Florida City Government Week from October 22 – 28. This week long celebration, sponsored by the Florida League of Cities helps raise awareness about the importance of municipal government and its daily impact on city residents.

City government provides a higher level of service than most governments, yet many residents are unaware of how city services impact their lives. The theme My City: I’m Part of It, I’m Proud of It will guide this year’s activities throughout Florida, including Eustis participating for the first time.

Safety Tour Day 2018

“Florida City Government Week is an opportunity to reach out to our residents to become more informed about the many services we provide,” says City Manager Ron Neibert. “This Friday, October 26 is Eustis Safety Tour Day at both Eustis Fire Department and Eustis Police Department for Eustis residents to get a first look at what is inside both stations, while learning about personnel, equipment, and safety.”

Eustis Fire Department (100 W. Norton Ave.) will have an open house starting at 2 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. The Eustis Police Department (51 W Norton Ave.) will have a tour of small groups of 10 or less starting at 2 p.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes. This is free for all Eustis residents and businesses to attend and no advance registration is required.
