Eustis Seeks Watercraft Rentals for Downtown Lakefront

EUSTIS, Fla. (May 29, 2018) – The City of Eustis is seeking requests for proposals for a water recreation rental business on the waterfront in Downtown Eustis at Ferran Park, that will cater to the general public and tourists.

Located just north of the Orlando Metropolitan Area, Eustis is a friendly waterfront community and an ideal location for businesses and industries. Eustis has a beautiful waterfront on the Harris Chain of Lakes.  As the center lake on the chain, Lake Eustis (7,833 acres) has easy access to the other lakes on the chain. Along with a unique historic downtown, Eustis has family-oriented neighborhoods allowing for an active lifestyle.

“We are seeing more activity with people engaging in recreational watersports on the lake and coming to Downtown Eustis to enjoy the waterfront,” said Eustis Public Relations Kristina Rosenburg. The City is looking for businesses who operate a variety of marine equipment that can include rentals of kayaks, pontoon boats, bass boats, power boats, sail boats, jet skis or any other water recreational equipment. The City of Eustis is offering the rental business an access to three overnight boat slips and use of space on the shore of Lake Eustis for storage, along with a lockable gate at the end of the docks.

“The city has made a significant investment in Ferran Park in the last couple years and is seeking to partner with a watercraft operator to further promote the waterfront and downtown area,” said Eustis Economic Development Director Tom Carrino. “The watercraft rentals will help create a positive and active lifestyle in our downtown area that will attract more visitors to support local businesses.”
