Eustis Chamber to Honor Past Presidents
During 70th Anniversary Event

EUSTIS, Fla. (April 3, 2018) – On any given day, the Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce fields questions from visitors about local amenities, connects residents with member businesses, plans networking events for local professionals, and works with local government to coordinate events like the George Washington Birthday Celebration, called GeorgeFest.  It’s a mission the officers and staff of the chamber have been fulfilling for seventy years.

To honor the hard work of everyone who has contributed over the last seventy years, the Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize the past presidents of the chamber during the organization’s monthly networking breakfast on Wednesday, April 4th.  Held at the Eustis Community Center, the event’s doors open at 7am for networking, followed by special presentations by April’s breakfast sponsor, TipTops.

“We have seventy years of legacy to honor,” says current chamber president, Liz Anderson of CenterState Bank.  “We’ve invited past presidents to attend and Lance Pauli of Harden Pauli Funeral Home, a past president, will be buying their breakfast to say thank you.”

Chamber member Gloria Savannah-Austin, a certified Life Cycle Celebrant with Soulful Transitions, has been gathering the history of the chamber for this event.  Her research has led her from the Chamber’s archives to the Eustis Memorial Library, the Eustis Historical Museum, and to attics and basements across the city.

“I’ve been able to piece together the seventy-plus year history of the chamber, including a list of virtually every chamber president during that time,” says Savannah-Austin, whose business specializes in telling unique end-of-life stories for her clients.  “In fact, my research has revealed that the chamber may have been started even earlier, when it was called the ‘Eustis Board of Trade’ in the 1920’s.”

Seating is limited.  To RSVP for the event, please visit www.eustischamber.com to purchase tickets for $15 each.  A limited number of same day tickets are sometimes available at the door.   The Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce unites hundreds of business and professional firms, creating a unique central agency working to improve businesses interested in prospecting and creating a healthy environment in which to conduct business.  For more information, please visit the chamber’s website or call the chamber at 352-357-3434.
