Commissioner Rotella first moved to Central Florida in the early 1970’s. He received a B.A. Degree in Biological Sciences from Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana, and served in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, during the Vietnam War. Commissioner Rotella returned to Central Florida in 1979, after receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in San Francisco and completing a year of podiatric medical training in southern California. He established his first practice of podiatric medicine and foot surgery in Orlando in 1979 and a second office in Eustis in 1981. His strong attraction to Eustis brought him to make his home here in 1982. 

Doctor Rotella built Lake Foot Clinic at its present Eustis location in 1985. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Certified Wound Specialist by the American Academy of Wound Management. He is an active member of the medical staff at Florida Hospital Waterman, the Florida Hospital Wound Care Center, and the Hyperbaric Oxygen Center. He has served 2 terms as President of the Central Florida Podiatric Medical Association, as well as serving as legislative liaison, vice president and other offices for that organization.

Commissioner Rotella has been an active member of the Eustis community for several years.  He is currently the Commission's liaison to the Lake Eustis Area Chamber and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Eustis, and has participated in the Eustis Rotary Club, the Elks, the Lake Eustis Sailing Club and various civic and church groups. He has also owned and managed rental properties here. He has completed the course for elected municipal officials by the Institute for Elected Officials, and currently serves as a board member of the Lake and Sumter County Metropolitan Planning Organization, representing Eustis in that organization devoted to regional planning of transportation and related issues.

Commissioner Rotella and his wife are avid sailors, enjoy traveling, outdoor and nature activities, and their pet dogs. Commissioner Rotella is also interested in the study of American history, is active in investing and a supporter of the performing arts in Eustis.
