 Commissioner Karen LeHeup-Smith is a native of Eustis. A graduate of Eustis High School she attended Lake Sumter Community College and graduated from National Louis University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.

There is the old saying that you can't go home again, but today Ms. LeHeup-Smith resides in her childhood neighborhood. She enjoys the company of her friends and neighbors and our small town feeling when walking downtown. Her early memories include going to the movies at the State Theater, cherry colas at the counter of Bay Pharmacy, working at the Eustis Library, shopping at Ferran's and fireworks over Lake Eustis. Isn’t it wonderful that today we can see great theater productions at the State Theater, shop at Bay Pharmacy, visit our jewel of a library, eat at The Third Place or any of a number of fine establishments, and still see fireworks over Lake Eustis!

Ms. LeHeup-Smith is a Financial Consultant with the Belton-Cartier Financial Group of A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. She is currently Secretary of the Kiwanis of Eustis and a member of the Moonflower Circle of the Lakes and Hills Garden Club. In her spare time she enjoys reading, knitting and crocheting. She lives with her son Travis, two dogs and one cat.
