Current Term: January 2007 - December 2010

Back

Vice Mayor Scott Ales and his wife, Debra, relocated to the State of Florida in 1992, and finally settled in Eustis in 1995.  They were immediately captured by the City’s unique character and charm, which from the first day, felt like home.  Following the birth of their son, Dawson, at Waterman Hospital, the Ales’ knew that Eustis was the community they wanted to help shape his life and spend the rest of theirs.

Vice Mayor Ales has been an entrepreneur for the past 30 years, getting his start at the early age of 14 as a farmer and truck driver under an Iowa farm permit.  By paying attention to lessons learned along the way, focusing on the little details of every day, and pursuing innovative solutions to the issues before him, Vice Mayor Ales has been successful throughout his career at cultivating relationships and getting the job done.

Vice Mayor Ales knows his family has been blessed by participation in this community, and has always felt the need to give something in return.  He is an ordained minister in his church, a former Kiwanis President and current member of the Board of Directors.  He is also a former member of the Eustis Tree Advisory Committee and the Board for Eustis Main Street Association prior to being elected to his current position as a Eustis City Commissioner.

When time permits, Vice Mayor Ales and his family enjoy a variety of recreational interests that Eustis provides all too well.  Golfing, boating, fishing, and swimming are just a few of his many recreational interests.  He considers working with his hands a great form of therapy and satisfaction.  Consequently, you will find him building things and maintaining their residence.

Vice Mayor Ales has the highest desire to provide the Citizens of Eustis with leadership that reflects the will of its people.  This is a fundamental principal of the Country and will be practiced throughout his tenure as a Eustis City Commissioner.  Our Lord and Creator has provided a guiding light in all he pursues….this endeavor is no different!
