The Eustis Command Team is mobilized to Level III (monitoring) under the authorization of the City Manager.

The Eustis Emergency Operations Center is activated upon the declaration of emergency by the Eustis City Commission.  This action follows the State and County's declaration.

During this period, the City Manager and Senior Director of Public Safety / Chief of Police are given control by the City Commission for a limited period of time as stated in the declaration of emergency.  City employees and equipment are strategically placed in key locations in the city to protect the lives and property of the citizens.

Lake County Emergency Management is the agency responsible for opening public shelters throughout the county. Residents may call the following number to determine the existence and location of emergency shelters and to obtain other storm, safety, and weather information:

Storm emergencies throughout Lake County may be reported to the Lake County Sheriff's office at (352) 343-2101.

In the event of a hurricane or severe storm events, residents of the City of Eustis may call the 24-hour public safety dispatch number to report public safety damages (downed trees, electrical wires, etc.) and to receive information regarding the opening of county-operated emergency shelters within the city.
