A Certificate of Appropriateness is necessary for any renovation or addition made to a contributing structure within the Washington Avenue Historic District or a Local Landmark. The application allows the Historic Preservation Board to insure that any proposed renovation is in character with the District. It also gives the Historic Preservation Board the ability to insure that the proposed materials used match the original materials as closely as possible. Applications should be submitted 15 days prior to the scheduled meeting dates.
